Job description

Wind Energy Engineer

Edinburgh, with need for UK wide travel

Reporting to the UK Renewables Business Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering our highly technical studies within the UK onshore and specifically offshore wind sector. More specifically, you\'ll coordinate, direct, and collaborate with our other internal practices (Hamburg & Montreal) or external teams on studies on the development, design, operations and performance of on- and offshore projects. Additionally, you\'ll be in charge of dossiers concerning all aspects of wind turbine technology in those project phases in which the company is involved.

Primary Responsibilities

Carry out preliminary and detailed multidisciplinary technical studies during the design, construction and operation phases of wind projects, particularly as related to wind turbine technology and its application.
• Project manage the delivery of the preliminary and detailed multidisciplinary technical studies utilising resources and project teams out with the UK (Hamburg & Montreal)
• Collaborate within project teams and lead on due diligence mandates as well as assessments of the operation, performance, and electrical behaviour of wind turbines
• Act as a recognized UK technical authority both within an outside the organization on all issues related to the individual and aggregate operation of wind turbines
• Write technical reports and, when needed, participate in the presentation of the results of technical studies
• Advise colleagues with the objective of developing internal expertise
• Support and advise clients during the wind farm development and operational phases on matters concerning wind turbine technology
• Perform an adequate technology watch of any technological developments applicable to wind turbines and their application
• Continuously remain current with respect to the evolution of products and services offered by wind turbine manufacturers and their application

Requirements

Education and/or experience
• Electrical Engineering (or similar) degree, with a specialisation in a relevant field
• Be able to demonstrate experience of wind farm operation or development, preferably offshore
Qualifications
• Ability to manage several complex projects concurrently
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of issues related to wind turbines and various related technologies
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Excellent skills in managing and developing interpersonal relations
• Command of MS Office software, particularly Excel and Word
• German or French Language skills (advantage)
• Experience in the development and operation of wind power projects (advantage)
