The Gold Standard Foundation (www.cdmgoldstandard.org) runs a globally recognized certification scheme and distinguishes the highest quality carbon offset projects. It is a key policy tool for the NGO community to influence the development of the rapidly growing global carbon markets. Currently working as the de-facto regulator with 350 projects worldwide with an incremental market value of 200 M EUR and representing investments in the range of billions of EUR in renewable energy and energy efficiency, the Gold Standard certification scheme has recently completed its start-up phase and is expanding its team.
