Job description

My client is a leading provider of turnkey renewable energy systems across the whole of the US. Owing to a period of growth they are looking to appoint a key member of staff to perform the function of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for their solar PV business based out of New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a strong managerial background and track record in the renewable energy space, with a particular focus on the solar photovoltaic industry.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Overseeing the development of residential, municipal and commercial solar PV projects across the US and dealing with any managerial issues
• Managing the EPC function in its entirety
• Managing team of sales, engineering, legal and contracting staff for municipal, commercial and residential contracts
• Increasing market share and working with the Business Development and Sales heads, taking the business forward across the US to stay ahead of the competition

Skills and qualifications required:

• 20+ years\' experience in the energy industry
• Ideally will have been working in the solar industry in the US for the last 8 years
• Highly experienced manager, adept at managing a number of different teams simultaneously
• Specific experience working as a COO in a renewable energy company will be a strong advantage
• Strong knowledge of technical, financing and legal/regulatory issues within solar project construction and grid connection particularly PPAs
• Able to live/work in New Jersey
